Contractually-Limited-Term Assistant Professor

Position # 10416 – The Department of English and Theatre at Acadia University seeks applications for a 9.5-month contractually limited position at the rank of Assistant Professor in Nineteenth-Century Literature and Culture to begin August 1, 2022. The successful candidate will teach two upper-level courses, one in Victorian Culture and the other in Nineteenth- Century fiction, as well as three courses in introductory English literature, and will be expected to contribute to the intellectual life and service work of the department.

Applicants should have a PhD in English, university teaching experience, and a demonstrated commitment to innovative scholarship and pedagogy. Applications should include a cover letter, curriculum vitae, teaching dossier (including a statement of teaching philosophy, sample syllabi, and course evaluations), and a writing sample. Applicants should also arrange to have three letters of reference emailed separately to the email address below.

Note: Candidates should be prepared to potentially teach these courses using synchronous and asynchronous online and/or remote delivery platforms if that becomes necessary.
