The Association of Canadian College and University Teachers of English (ACCUTE) is a non-profit association dedicated to promoting the concerns of instructors, researchers, and graduate students in the field of literary studies. We depend on your continued support as we advocate for your professional community. As an ACCUTE member, you gain:

  • A political voice in a nationally recognized society
  • Membership in the Canadian Federation for the Humanities and Social Sciences (CFHSS), which lobbies SSHRC and Ottawa on our behalf
  • Access to the annual conference and eligibility for travel assistance to present at the conference
  • Regular emails informing you about association news and deadlines and important policy developments
  • Access to the quarterly ACCUTE newsletter, which features articles about current issues, scholarly and professional concerns, exchanges of opinion, key announcements, calls for papers, and news of members
  • A subscription to the quarterly journal English Studies in Canada

A membership fee of $45.00- $175.00, depending on academic position and employment status, is required for a one-year membership to ACCUTE and to receive all of the membership benefits.

An active ACCUTE membership keeps you up-to-date on our plans, announcements, and CFPs for Congress 2024. You will be eligible to participate in our annual conference, and you maintain your subscription to our prominent scholarly journal, English Studies in Canada. Graduate students and underwaged members are also available for travel subsidies to our conference.

In addition to providing benefits for individual members, ACCUTE offers a strong voice for literary studies and the Humanities through its affiliation with the Federation of Humanities and Social Sciences.
