BIPOC Coffee Hour- Grant Writing

Getting Ready to Hit Submit? Let’s Talk About Grants!

Getting ready to hit submit on a grant application this fall?

Would you like the perspective of a SSHRC adjudicator on your proposal?

Would you like to connect with other BIPOC scholars navigating the same process?

Then join us at the next BIPOC Coffee Hour for a workshop on grant writing with Dr. Cheryl Thompson.

Drawing on her experience as a Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC) adjudicator, Dr. Thompson will share her insights regarding crucial aspects of grant proposal writing, with particular attention to research topics that do not typically foreground methodology.

A special treat? This session will be shaped by questions submitted in advance by attendees. So, if there is a final question about your application that has been bugging you, or you have a question you would like to ask an adjudicator regarding the selection process, this is your opportunity!

Please send your questions in advance to any of the emails below:

titi.aiyegbusi@mail.utoronto.ca (Titi)

mezzatik@uwo.ca (Mahdiyeh)

sarahgeorge3@cunet.carleton.ca (Sarah)

ashu.kito@ontariotechu.net (Ashu)

Deadline for questions is September 7, 2027.

Scholars from all academic fields are welcome, and no question related to an actual proposal is off limits. So don’t be shy—ask away!

We look forward to seeing you on September 14 at 12 noon.

This session is jointly hosted by ACCUTE and BCSA
