Job: English Instructor – Permanent Regular Faculty, Kwantlen Polytechnic University (Deadline: 29 June 2023)

The Department of English at Kwantlen Polytechnic University invites applications for one 100% Probationary Regular (full-time ongoing) faculty position commencing September 1, 2023. This 100% Regular position involves teaching eight sections per year. The teaching rotation is Fall/ Summer, with a Spring PD semester.

English courses are offered at the Surrey, Richmond, Langley, and Civic Plaza campuses of KPU; however, some courses may be online. Applicants should have experience teaching online courses. The successful applicant will reside in B.C.’s Lower Mainland. 

Each semester, Regular Faculty teach several sections of ENGL 1100 Introduction to University Writing and may teach least one of our first-year literature courses: ENGL 1202 OR ENGL 1204. Descriptions of these courses can be found at https://calendar.kpu.ca/courses-az/engl/. 

Regular Faculty often teach one or two 2000-4000 level courses per year. Our degree program is growing, and we are currently looking to expand our offerings in the following areas: 

· African Literatures/Black Studies

· Latinx Literatures

· AAPI and/or East Asian Literatures

· Middle Eastern Literatures

· Queer Studies (LGBTQIA2S+ Literatures)  

· Critical Animal Studies

· Experiential and/or Service Learning

· Composition Studies 

We invite all candidates in any of these areas who meet the qualifications listed below to apply. Successful candidates will be asked to develop curriculum in at least one of these areas of specialization.
