Thank you! Thanks to everyone who took part in and supported our annual conference in Montreal/Tiohtià:ke last weekend. It was wonderful to gather with those who came in person, and great to have robust engagement from the online/hybrid contingent. We appreciate the confidence you showed in ACCUTE as we planned and delivered a conference like none other in our association’s history. In total 270 people attended the conference and delivered over 300 papers and presentations over the three day meeting, in panels that were in-person, online, hybrid, and “messy” (if you know, you know!). Flexibility, dedication, and the goodwill of our members kept us flying through.
We are especially grateful to our sponsors (who contributed over $3200, above ESC’s generous annual contribution), our member donors (who contributed over $3000 to graduate student travel support), the hotel staff at the ALT Hotel, the tech support from Stage/Vision, and perhaps most importantly our volunteers. Next year, we will return to Congress at York University. Stay tuned for the Call for Panel Proposals coming soon in the next issue of The Angle.
Note to Graduate Students: Graduate students who travelled to Montreal to present at the ACCUTE 2022 Conference are eligible for partial reimbursement for travel expenses (excluding accommodation). To submit a claim, please complete this form by before 30 May 2022.
The results of the Graduate Student Survey are available here. Please consider getting involved in your Graduate Student Caucus to take part in GSC events and of course the Grad Student Pub night at next year’s Congress. For details about the GSC, contact Krista Collier-Jarvis, GSC President, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Call for Photos! It was no small thing to gather together as colleagues and friends after over two years of professional and personal isolation. We would like to remember this moment by collecting photos from the conference. Please send any photos you would like to share to email@example.com.
The Angle: We are now accepting submissions and proposals for the Fall issue of The Angle. To contribute poetry, short fiction, a research spotlight, or professional/critical reflections, please contact Erin Knight at firstname.lastname@example.org.
