The Department of English at the University of Winnipeg invites applications for a tenure-track position in Creative Writing at the rank of Assistant Professor beginning July 1, 2022, subject to budgetary approval. The position is designated for candidates who self-identify as Indigenous persons, persons with disabilities, racialized persons, and 2SLGBTQ+ persons.
Applicants should have, at minimum, a Master’s degree in English, Creative Writing, or a related discipline, and a substantial creative writing publication portfolio. Priority will be given to candidates with a strong record of creative publication in fiction, teaching experience in creative writing, and a commitment to fostering a positive artistic community on campus. The successful applicant will be expected to teach both creative writing and literary studies courses in the Department’s undergraduate programs, and to take part in the administration of the department’s two writer-in-residence programs. They will also have the opportunity to serve as an advisor for the student-led creative writing journal.
