Within this context of inspiring innovation and excellence, the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences is currently seeking a full-time Professor of Creative Writing & Publishing.

What You’ll be Doing
- Ensuring program and course curricula are current, relevant and reflective of best practices within the relevant professional/program disciplines.
- Defining, evaluating and validating applied learning outcomes for courses and programs.
- Creating an effective environment for learning which accommodates students’ diverse cultural and educational backgrounds, experiences and individual learning preferences.
- Designing appropriate strategies and tools for facilitating and assessing student learning that are invitational and reflective of best practices in teaching and learning.
- Developing appropriate strategies and tools to assess student performance that are consistent with the learning outcomes of the course and address multiple learning preferences.
- Developing multi-media materials and alternative delivery strategies, and incorporating appropriate educational technologies into the applied learning process.
- Ensuring that students are aware of course and program learning outcomes, learning strategies and evaluation techniques. Providing individual tutoring and academic counselling, and evaluating student progress/achievement within assigned courses.

The successful candidate will also meet the following qualifications:
- MFA or MA required; PhD in English Literature or Comparative Literature, or in a related field, preferred
- Demonstrated record of writing and publishing in diverse genres and media, and evidence of expertise or professional development in the areas of publishing and/or editing;
- A minimum of 3 years relevant practical and professional experience in traditional, current and emergent publishing environments and a thorough theoretical and historical understanding of the traditional writing and publishing industry in Canada and beyond;
- Experience in teaching and curriculum development at the post-secondary level;
- Solid network of contacts with other professionals, organizations, and employers.

Campus Location: HMC (May be assigned activities at any Sheridan campus) during normal operations. Currently the position is a hybrid of in-person and remote delivery.
