Event: Public Health (Humanities), Panedemics and Planetary Portals — Online, Mar. 12, 2021

You are invited to attend an interdisciplinary and bilingual colloquium on “Public Health (Humanities), Pandemics, and Planetary Portals” to be held on March 12, 2021, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. (EST) via Zoom. The colloquium brings together writers, artists, scholars, and health workers to explore critical and creative responses to public health crises. It is specifically interested in the ways in which pandemics have unsettled and reinforced normative social structures, coincided with political resistance movements, entrenched historically received patterns of social injustice, and regimented the perception of bodies and the public sphere in local and planetary contexts.

Guest speakers: Larissa Lai (University of Calgary), Lucille Toth (Ohio State University), Shane Neilson (médecin et poète), Samuele Collu (McGill University), Isabelle Galichon (Université Bordeaux-Montaigne), Sipi Flamand (Réalisateur et activiste autochtone), Karoline Truchon (Université du Québec en Outaouais) Heike Harting, Heather Meek, Léonore Brassard, Simon Harel, Catherine Mavrikakis (Université de Montréal).
