Grenfell Campus, Memorial University of Newfoundland, is situated in traditional Mi’kmaw territory in Corner Brook, NL. The English Programme, School of Arts and Social Science, invites applications for a Tenure-track position in English Literature that will contribute to our evolving and diversifying curriculum. The ideal applicant will have expertise in one or more of the following areas: Indigenous, Asian Canadian/American, African Canadian/American, African Diasporas, Latinx, Caribbean, or other Global Anglophone areas. Secondary expertise in one or more of the following areas may be considered an asset: dramatic literature, creative writing, digital humanities, or new media.

The successful candidate will have completed a PhD in English by the expected start date. Candidates who are all-but-dissertation (ABD) and are very close to completion may also be considered. They will have a demonstrated record of research. Responsibilities will include the following: teaching and supervision at the undergraduate level, including first-year courses; contributing to the undergraduate program, including participating in curriculum development as appropriate; maintaining an active research agenda; and participating in the academic life of the English Programme, the School of Arts and Social Sciences, and the University. There will also be opportunities to contribute to our proposed graduate program. This position will begin on August 1, 2021.
