Job: Early Modern Lit, 12-month Term (Brandon; deadline: 21 Feb. 2020)

Based in southwestern Manitoba, Brandon University also offers pre-professional and Masters programs, as well as innovative and award-winning outreach programs in a personalized learning environment.

The Department of English & Creative Writing at Brandon University invites applications for a 12-month term position in Early Modern English Literature. The successful candidate will demonstrate excellence in teaching, have an active research profile, and be willing to participate collegially in the life of the university. The preferred qualification is a PhD in English, but ABD candidates with a defense date may be considered in exceptional circumstances. While there may be some flexibility in terms of course offerings, ideally the successful candidate will be able to teach the following undergraduate courses in the 2020-2021 academic year:

  • 30:331 Life without Shakespeare: Other Early Dramatists
  • 30:339 Shakespeare I
  • 30:340 Shakespeare II
  • 30:360 The Age of Beheadings
  • PLUS 2 sections of an introductory English literature course
