The successful candidate will teach GNED 101: Introduction to Arts and Science as well as elective courses in the General Education and Degree Breadth programming at the North, Lakeshore and Orangeville campuses. The incumbent will teach, develop curriculum, plan lessons, regularly revise course outlines, design/revise specific courses, create an engaging and innovative learning environment for our students, assess student progress and achievement; work collaboratively with colleagues, participate in committees and related associations, and contribute to the overall direction of the department. The incumbent will also support student advising, assist with the review and development of programs, with the promotion and marketing of the Department, and will develop and maintain strong internal and professional affiliations.
Qualifications
The successful candidate will have at least a Master’s degree (PhD preferred) in a Liberal Studies discipline and will have a minimum of 7 years of teaching with a preference for experience in the College sector. Preference is also given to candidates who are qualified to include Indigenous ways of knowing in their teaching practice, or those with further teaching credentials such as TESL accreditation. In addition, the successful candidate will have engaging and effective teaching skills, demonstrated ability to coach and support students, demonstrated experience managing classroom dynamics, strong knowledge and application of current pedagogical principles, a student focused approach and a demonstrated commitment to fostering innovation and positive change. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated commitment to and knowledge of principles of equity and inclusion, be a collaborative team player and be committed to a positive team culture. The successful candidate will possess well developed interpersonal communication and problem solving skills and have demonstrated ability to contribute positively to curriculum development and delivery.

Academic start salaries are determined by qualifications and years of related experience as detailed in the current Collective Agreement for Academic Employees.
