ACCUTE is saddened to learn of the death of Dr. Jane Millgate on January 26, 2019. Millgate was President of ACCUTE from 1980-1982. A remarkable scholar of nineteenth-century English literature whose interests encompassed literary history, modern American literature, and bibliographic and editorial studies, she was Professor Emeritus at Victoria College at the University of Toronto. We send our deepest condolences to her husband, Michael, who is also a retired member of the Department of English at the University of Toronto, her family, friends, and colleagues across Canada and around the globe.
