The Department of English Language and Literature at Saint Mary’s University invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor in the field of Indigenous Literature and Culture.

In addition to holding a Ph.D. and having a demonstrated record of research and teaching effectiveness, the successful candidate will have a strong background in Indigenous knowledge and methodologies, including the qualification of lived experience, and will demonstrate a commitment to working with Indigenous communities. Lived experience of Indigenous identity will be considered an asset. It is expected that the successful candidate will establish a rigorous research program in the field and contribute an appropriate level of service to the department, faculty, university, and community.
