ABOUT THE POSITION
Reporting to the Vice President, Academic, the Dean, Liberal Arts, is accountable for contributing to the academic well-being and growth of the college and for providing academic and administrative leadership, supervision, support and direction to the faculty, administrative staff and support staff in the Liberal Arts programs including Communications and Professional Writing graduate certificate, Communications, General Education, General Arts and Sciences, elective courses for degree programs, Community Integration through Cooperative Education, Indigenous Studies, and English for Academic Purposes. The Dean is accountable for the planning, development, maintenance and ongoing review for these programs and related activities on multiple campuses. The Dean is responsible for ensuring that the course/program standards conform to external accreditation and licensing requirements, are responsive/relevant to the needs of students, programs and the community at large according to the College’s Strategic Plan.
Candidates for this role will possess excellent strategic, leadership, management, interpersonal, communication, change management, engagement, diversity and decision-making skills. The ability to work and thrive in a fast-paced, complex, unionized institution in order to support the achievement of the college’s strategic plan objectives is critical. Relevant academic and professional qualifications will be considered. A Master’s degree is required.
The college offers a competitive compensation range of ($112,299 to $149,732; Band 15), plus a range of other attractive benefits, including a comprehensive benefits plan, CAAT defined-benefit pension plan, tuition reimbursement & fee support and subsidized fitness membership.
