Here’s a brilliant idea from the Arts Research Collaboratory at Ryerson: a Rehearsal Space at Congress for first-time presenters. Check it out.
The ARC is an interdisciplinary arts research lab with a common area that can accommodate a few simultaneous discussions and projects. Between 10am-noon on Saturday through Wednesday at Congress, first-time presenters are invited to visit the space to practice, have some snacks, and exchange ideas. Graduate students from the Communication & Culture program will be available to provide feedback, and we hope to have at least two faculty members onsite throughout.
Between 12pm and 2pm, after the official workshop component has concluded, first-time presenters are welcome to work quietly in the ARC common area. There is also a small office with a cubicle and chairs that may be used if available.
