English Literatures – Assistant Professor (LTA Modern and Contemporary Literature)

Trent University invites applications for a twelve-month limited-term appointment in the Department of English Literatures at the rank of Assistant Professor from August 15, 2017 to August 14, 2018 at the Durham campus and UOIT campus. Please note that this position is subject to budgetary approval and is designated as LTA Modern and Contemporary Literature. There will be an expectation to teach during the summer in addition to teaching in the regular academic sessions.
We are seeking broad expertise in modern and contemporary literature. Teaching assignments will include ENGL-1003H (Revolution!), ENGL-1005H UOIT (Love and Hate), ENGL-2609H (Contagion), ENGL-2805H (Modern Drama), ENGL-4803H (Modern Poetry), ENGL-4801H (Advanced Studies in Genre) and an additional 1.0 credits TBD. Versatility and a demonstrated aptitude for teaching introductory courses are essential. A Ph.D. by the time of appointment is expected.
