Tenure Track Faculty Position

The English Department at Mount Saint Vincent University invites applications for a tenure-track position in Writing Studies at the Assistant Professor level starting July 1, 2017.

The Description

The department houses a Writing Minor that encompasses rhetoric, editing, and writing theory in addition to composition and creative writing. The successful applicant will be required to coordinate and develop the Writing programme in consultation with the Chair and, as part of a regular teaching load, to teach an upper-level course in writing theory and to develop and teach online courses in writing. Applicants must have a PhD in Writing Studies, Rhetoric, or Creative Writing. We are particularly interested in candidates specializing in writing theory. Demonstrated research competency is required. Documented experience and expertise in teaching undergraduate courses at all levels and in online course development are assets.

The English Department has a dynamic undergraduate programme and a strong record of excellence in teaching and research. Duties will include teaching undergraduate Writing courses at all levels, maintaining an active research programme, and participating in collegial service.

Salary and benefits are in accordance with the Collective Agreement with the Mount Saint Vincent University Faculty Association. This position is subject to final budgetary approval.
