CFP: Canadian Literature Symposium on Robert Kroetsch (28-29 April 2017; deadline 15 September 2016)

Robert Kroetsch: Essayist, Novelist, Poet

April 28-29, 2017

As a writer of poems, novels, and non-fiction, Robert Kroetsch had a tremendous impact on Canadian literature and culture. His body of work has consistently been cited as the standard for innovation in Canadian literature. Likewise, it is nearly impossible to discuss Canadian writing in general without alluding to his criticism.

Understanding Kroetsch’s far-reaching influence on Canadian letters, the University of Ottawa’s Department of English will be hosting a two-day conference on April 28-29, 2017. Proposals are invited for this major conference. All topics are welcome, including biographical, literary, and new methodologies of reading Kroetsch’s many writings.

Please send a 300-word abstract and short autobiography by September 15th, 2016 to David Staines at dstaines@uOttawa.ca.
