Bader Postdoctoral Fellowship at Queen’s University (Deadline: 30 April 2016)

The Department of English Language and Literature at Queen’s University is accepting applications from exceptional candidates for a one-year Bader Postdoctoral Fellowship in one or more of the following areas: Gender and Sexuality, The History of the Book, Animal Studies/Ecocriticism, and Transatlantic Studies. We are looking for a Fellow who will be an active participant in the activities of the Department and contribute to the intellectual fabric of our community. Cover letters should express how holding the Fellowship at Queen’s would be key to the development of the candidate’s scholarship. In addition to research, the Fellowship includes teaching one 0.5 credit (3 units) course in the Fellow’s field of expertise.

Candidates must have completed all requirements for the Ph.D. prior to the start date of the Fellowship on July 1, 2016.  A complete application consists of: (1) cover letter; (2) current CV; (3) writing sample; (4) statement of research; (5) evidence of teaching experience; and (6) three letters of reference. This Postdoctoral Fellowship carries a minimum full-time equivalent salary of no less than $32,173, in accordance with the PSAC 901, Unit 2 Collective Agreement;

In addition, the incumbent will be separately appointed and compensated as a Term Adjunct to teach a 0.5 credit (3 unit) University course. The Term Adjunct appointment shall be governed by the Queen’s-QUFA collective agreement http://www.queensu.ca/facultyrelations/faculty-librarians-and-archivists/queens-qufa-collective-agreement and at http://www.qufa.ca. While fulfilling the duties of the Term Adjunct appointment, the Postdoctoral Fellow appointment shall be reduced accordingly.
