Indigenous Literatures
The Department of English at Saint Mary’s University invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor in the field of Indigenous Literature. An ability to teach courses on Modern and Contemporary American Literature and Culture would also be an asset. In addition to holding a Ph.D and having a demonstrated record of research and teaching effectiveness, the successful candidate will have a strong background in Indigenous knowledge and methodologies, including the qualification of lived experience, and will demonstrate a commitment to working with Indigenous communities. It is expected that the successful candidate will establish a rigorous research program in the field and contribute an appropriate level of service to the department, faculty, university, and community.
The appointment will begin on 1 July 2015.
