Job Summary

The Department of English Language and Literature at Brock University invites applications for a probationary tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor to begin July 1, 2014. The position is subject to final budgetary approval.

The Department is seeking a person with scholarly and teaching expertise in Postcolonial Literature and complementary theoretical holdings, with priority given to those who work in indigenous, diasporic, and/or critical race studies.

Qualifications

Applicants should have a strong teaching record, demonstrable scholarly promise, and a PhD in hand or a defence date set. The Department of English Language and Literature offers a Master of Arts program in the field of Text/Community/Discourse and an undergraduate program with 500 majors. Brock University, which has more than 18,000 students, is situated on the Niagara Escarpment within an easy drive to Buffalo and Toronto. The successful candidate will teach two courses per term plus supervisions and will contribute to a vibrant research culture.
