Tenure-Stream Position in Victorian and Modern British Literature

The English Department of Bishop’s University invites applications from candidates specializing in Victorian and Modern British Literature, for a tenure-stream position at the Assistant Professor rank, to begin July 1st, 2013, subject to final budgetary approval.

The English Department offers a wide range of degree options, in Literary Studies, Film Studies, and Cultural and Media Studies, as well as a minor in Creative Writing and Journalism. Candidates must be able to contribute to a range of these program areas, as well as to the numerous extra-curricular incentives originating in the department. Minimum qualifications are therefore a PhD (or ABD with scheduled defense date) in Victorian or Modern British literature (with the ability to teach both), a record of excellent teaching, and evidence of an ongoing commitment to scholarship and research. In accordance with Canadian immigration requirements, priority will be given to Canadian citizens and permanent residents.  All qualified candidates are encouraged to apply.
