Position Summary

Humber College’s Professional Writing and Communications program in the Department of English is a one-year graduate certificate that provides students with a broad base of training in professional writing skills including writing, editing, storytelling, online writing, project management, and professionalism skills. Applicants should send in a cover letter and resume and include an overview of their writing experience as well as an indication of the current program courses they feel they are qualified to teach.

Qualifications

Successful candidates will have a senior level of experience as a professional writer (minimum 5 years, 10+ years preferred), teaching experience (preferably in a college setting), and at minimum a bachelor’s degree (graduate degree preferred). Specific expertise in professional writing instruction, from journalism to online writing to editing to project management, is highly desirable, as are industry connections. In addition, the successful applicants will share Humber’s commitment to multicultural diversity, student-centred active learning, and instructional technology.
