Job: English Instructor – Full-time LTA, Medicine Hat College (Deadline: 17 April 2023)

Medicine Hat College’s School of Arts, Science & Education invites applications for a full-time, term-certain Instructor in our Humanities and Social Sciences Department for the Fall 2023, Winter 2024, and potentially spring 2024 semesters. This is a Full-time position from July 1, 2023 to June 30, 2024 in English and potentially General Education for the 2023/2024 academic year. 

A little about the role:

The successful candidate will instruct first-year English courses and may be asked to teach GNED 230 “Citizenship Without Borders” & GNED 221 “Aesthetic Experiences and Ideas” as well. These courses will contribute to the Humanities and Social Sciences Diploma Program; are connected with university studies and transfer programs; function as required or elective courses for other programs at the college; and double as Mount Royal University courses for those in degree partnership programs. As a successful applicant you will have:
  • Master’s degree in English required; PhD is preferred
  • Post-Secondary teaching experience is an asset
  • Research and publication history preferred
  • Experience in on-line and face to face formats recommended
  • Willingness to be part of a dynamic and collaborative team that focuses on student success and has a positive, appreciative and enthusiastic personality
  • Strong communication skills and computer literacy
  • An equivalent combination of education and work experience may be considered
