Job: Lecturer, Cultural Studies, full-time 12-month appointment (UBC Okanagan; deadline: 12 April 2019)

The Department of English and Cultural Studies at the University of British Columbia’s Okanagan Campus invites applications for a full-time 12-month Lecturer appointment in Cultural Studies commencing Sept 1, 2019.  Lecturer positions are appointments without review (i.e., non-tenure track), renewable for successive terms, and subject to availability of funding and demonstration of excellence in teaching. These terms are in accordance with the Collective Agreement between UBC and the UBC Faculty Association.  

The instructor would be expected to offer three courses in the first Winter term (Sept. to Dec.), three in the second Winter term (Jan. to Apr.), and one course in the summer term. We seek an individual to teach the following courses in our undergraduate Cultural Studies program over the next 12-month period.

The successful candidate must have a PhD in Cultural Studies or a cognate field, evidence of an active research profile, and prior university teaching experience. 

Applications include a cover letter, a current curriculum vitae, a statement of teaching philosophy/interests, and evidence of teaching effectiveness (which might include a teaching portfolio, student evaluations, peer teaching reviews, professional development of teaching, teaching awards and nominations).
