The School of Arts and Culture at Red Deer Polytechnic is seeking a Probationary Continuous English Instructor (Open Specialization) within the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences, to begin 5 August 2022. Position ResponsibilitiesThe School of Arts and Culture is seeking a Probationary Continuous English Instructor (Open Specialization) within the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences.
 The successful candidate will have a Master’s Degree (minimum) or PhD (preferred) in English or a related field, such as, but not limited to, Indigenous Studies, Gender Studies, Writing Studies, or Interdisciplinary Studies.  The committee will consider candidates with alternative academic credentials (e.g. post-graduate certificates) in combination with professional accomplishments or recognized achievements within areas relevant to the position. 
The successful candidate must have evidence of demonstrated success teaching introductory English courses on essay writing, critical reading, and literary analysis to a diverse student population across a range of programs.  
As RDP expands its program offering, duties may include instruction in:  primarily first-year composition and literature classes select second-year literature classes occasional third- or fourth-year literature or multidisciplinary courses, on a rotating basis among other faculty courses in other disciplines in the School of Arts and Culture based on their areas of expertise
The successful candidate will engage in scholarship and service expectations of faculty and contribute to the scholarship and teaching of a multidisciplinary School and Department as Red Deer Polytechnic grows its credential offerings.
