| The Role | The English Department is seeking to hire 3 regular probationary instructors qualified to teach first- and second-year courses in academic writing and literature. |
| Responsibilities | As a regular probationary instructor in the English Department, you will- develop course outlines following curriculum guidelines, – select appropriate textbooks and create teaching materials, – deliver quality learner-centred instruction, – design assignments and assessment criteria, – evaluate student progress, – hold regular office hours, – participate in curriculum revision and development, – attend departmental and Faculty-Wide meetings, – share in departmental and Faculty-Wide responsibilities, and – maintain currency in the field through regular professional development. |
| To Be Successful in this Role You Will Need | The successful candidates will have: – A minimum of a Master’s degree in English – A minimum of 2 years of experience teaching post-secondary credit courses in both academic writing and literature – The ability to work effectively as part of a team, excellent communication skills, demonstrated initiative, effective interpersonal skills, self-directedness, ability to work well with others, and – evidence of ongoing professional development.Expertise in Indigenous Literature, Rhetoric and Composition, or Shakespeare and Renaissance would be an asset. |
