The Department of English Language and Literature at Brock University invites applications for a probationary tenure-track positions at the rank of Assistant Professor to begin July 1, 2013. The positions is subject to final budgetary approval. The positions are:
-The Department is seeking a person with scholarly and teaching expertise in Literary Theory – e.g. in literature and critical race theory, gender studies, or cultural studies – AND/OR in Rhetoric – e.g. in rhetorical theory and criticism, genre or discourse analysis, or language theory. -The Department is seeking a writer-scholar for a position in Creative Writing. Primary expertise should be in fiction writing, the novel and/or short story, but the successful candidate should also be prepared to conduct research and teach courses in a complementary area of literary studies. The ideal candidate should have a substantial publication record in Creative Writing, demonstrable scholarly promise, a strong and innovative teaching record, and a PhD in hand or a defence date set. The successful candidate will also have the opportunity to contribute administratively to building Creative Writing program offerings in the English Department.
